HISTORY: Although T. J. Haugh's current body of work focuses on the female figure, the artist's previous work was done from a series of character studies of people riding the TRAIN. These original fine art paintings were widely exhibited in galleries and collected. They spoke to the human condition in a powerful and simple manner that is a hallmark of the artist in all his artistic endeavors. PRINTS: In an effort to expand his artistic range, the artist has recently created a series of handcrafted fine art prints (i.e, hand-pulled direct transfer process.) He has chosen the hand pulled and labor intensive manual methods of printing such as woodblock, linocut and serigraphy, over the mechanized and commercialized varieties such as inkjet ( referred to as giclee ) and offset lithography. This allows the artist to work directly with the piece as it is produced, and insures that the print's quality and originality are undiminished. Each of the fine art print series, as well as the individual prints, are done on acid free, high quality, fine art papers.
